BorderSwap is a matching board — the swap itself is between members. A few rules keep it smooth:
Travelers must follow the customs and duty-free allowance rules of every country on their route, and declare goods when required.
Buy new, keep the receipt and packaging. Never carry sealed packages you didn't purchase yourself.
No restricted or prohibited goods — if it can't go through customs openly, it doesn't belong on BorderSwap.
Arrange handovers in busy public places — airport arrivals, cafés, malls. Inspect the item before paying.
The shopper proposes a reward when posting — usually a slice of the price difference (10–30% is common). The traveler can accept or message to negotiate. Both sides agree before anything is bought.
Members settle directly at handover — cash or any transfer app you both trust. Inspect the item and receipt first, then pay the item cost plus the agreed reward.
Travelers are responsible for staying within personal duty-free allowances or declaring and paying duties where required. Factor that into the deal — for most personal-use items within allowance limits there's nothing to pay.
